The Philippine National Police (PNP) admitted that is considering serious security challenges as the local campaign period on March 25, 2022, started today.
According to PNP Spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo, it is expected that the political battle in the provinces will be more intense.
Due to this, PNP Chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos urged local police commanders to conduct proper deployment of their personnel.
Among the regions that the PNP leadership focused on field commanders were regions 5,8,12,13 and PRO BAR.
So far, the security package that the PNP will provide to candidates with threats to their lives is ready.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has also recorded 14 incidents of violence since the election period began on January 9, 2022.
According to Col. Fajardo in 14 incidents, only two of that number were confirmed election-related incidents.
While the areas to be included in the election hotspots, PNP continues to be under validation.
