Comelec Commissioner George Garcia expressed that he will not participate in the deliberation on the petition regarding the intra-party dispute of the PDP-Laban.
This is because he had previously served as a lawyer for the said party when the two camps were still united.
Garcia added that he is ready to provide insight or historical background to them in case he is asked for guidance.
But he clarified that it will not influence the outcome of such a case.
It will be recalled that earlier the election body allowed the candidates from the two factions to use the party’s name in their printed ballots pending the decision on the dispute between the two.
Recently, the faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi endorsed presidential bet former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. which garnered mixed reactions from Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and Presidential aspirant, Senator Manny Pacquiao who said that Cusi was obviously a foreigner to the faction because the PDP-Laban was formed to denounce the dictatorship of Marcos Sr. Top
