Westmincom chief of Basilan troops states to prepare for worst-case election scenario’
Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) Commander Maj. Gen. Alfredo Rosario Jr. asked the troop in Basilan province to prepare for the “worst-case scenario” in this election.
Rosario made the statement when he visited the troops of the Joint Task Force Basilan on Monday.
On MGen’s visit. Rosario, was given a security briefing by Brig. Gen. Domingo Gobway, Commander of JTF Basilan on the preparation of troops to enforce security in their area of ​​responsibility this election.
Note by MGen. Rosario to the troops, terrorist groups may try to disrupt the Basilan elections, so the military must make sure that they do not win.
The Comelec first said that there are 12 areas in Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, and Basilan that are likely to be under Comelec control due to the high threat of violence.
The first two towns in Lanao del Norte, Tubaran and Malabang, came under Comelec control.
