Two years after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Paranaque City Government officially kicked off the search for the nominees of Gawad Parangal sa Natatanging Paranaqueno 2023.

From January 9 to January 20, the City Government, led by Mayor Eric L. Olivarez, conducted a search for the 10 city residents with outstanding achievements to be recognized as Natatanging Paranaquenos. This event is in line with the celebration of Paranaque City’s 25th Cityhood Anniversary, with the award slated on February 10, 2023, at the East Ocean Palace.

The Natatanging Paranaqueno Award was first launched in 2014, and it is the highest recognition to be given to the bonafide residents of the city who contributed to the cause of the community; displayed their outstanding leadership skills, social responsibility, and fellowship; demonstrated great vigor; and practiced and adopted the mission and vision of the Paranaque City.

In the past, the City Government has awarded distinct personalities and celebrities for their contribution not only to the city but also to the global community, including John Arcilla, Pablo “Paolo” Olivarez II, Raul Gomez Isidro, Prof. Cecilia Ladines-Llave, M.D., Ph.D., Moy Ortiz, Ernesto D. Garilao, David Carlos, Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez, and Alfredo Lorenzo M. Jarencio.

The Gawad Parangal sa Natatanging Paranaqueno is organized by the Special Services Office, helmed by Ms. Marie Angelie M. Co, and in collaboration with the City Tourism Office, under Mr. Melquiades Alipo-on.
