It’s ridiculous that former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and his wife dare to accuse the Quad Committee of “ruining” their family. The sheer lack of self-awareness is almost impressive – if it weren’t so predictable. How fitting for someone drowning in secrets, slinging personal attacks at our Congressmen instead of owning up and providing a shred of explanation at the QuadCom hearings.
In a Facebook post on 21 September 2024, Mylah Roque, Harry’s wife, labeled Cong. Ace Barbers “an abusive individual,” claiming he “abuses his immunity from libel” by linking her to Lucky South 99 without any documentation to back it up. Predictably, she couldn’t resist a little personal attack at the end of the post: “Cong. Barbers, you are not somebody who can declare my family ‘wasak.’ Check your mirror.” The irony. He was calling Cong. Barbers abusive? Really? Maybe take a moment to watch a QuadCom hearing before tossing out accusations—just a thought.
The Roques aren’t exactly trying to win the argument with facts. Why? Because the facts aren’t on their side! Instead, they’ve stooped to playing the social media sympathy card, launching desperate personal attacks at our Congressmen. Seriously, how much lower can they go?
For anyone paying attention to the QuadCom hearings, Mylah’s name popped up when her signature appeared on a lease agreement with Sun Liming, a Chinese fugitive tied to fraud cases in China and, surprise, connected to POGO. It’s a straightforward question: why is her signature on that lease? Instead of explaining, she’s running to Facebook like a guilty teenager. Pathetic.
And let’s not forget the arrest of Sun Liming and Wang Keping in a house in Benguet belonging to PH2 Corp, owned by none other than Biancham Holdings, the Roque family’s company. So, they’re leasing properties to Chinese fugitives involved in financial scams and illegal POGOs? And somehow, they want us to believe they’re the victims here? The nerve!
Not only that, Harry Roquee’s also accusing the QuadCom of ruining his family after questions arose about his relationship with former Mr. Supranational AR Dela Serna, with whom he conveniently shares a joint bank account stuffed with millions. Yet he refuses to hand over the very documents he volunteered to provide. What is the reason why he cannot explain his almost miraculous wealth jump – from P125,000 in 2016 to P125 million in 2018? Instead of explaining, he’s crying “Kangaroo court”. The man was furious when former Senator Leila de Lima used the term, and now it’s his go-to excuse? Hypocrisy at its finest.
If the Roques had nothing to hide, they’d step up and present their side. But instead, they’ve chosen the coward’s route – crying foul and hurling insults. It’s pretty obvious who needs to be checking the mirror.
