Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio recently met with Emirates Cargo Senior Vice President for Cargo Commercial Worldwide Jeffrey Van Haeften to discuss best practices in airport operations, cargo handling, and logistics management. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration and enhance the BOC’s operational efficiency in air cargo processing.

Commissioner Rubio was joined by Deputy Commissioner Vener Baquiran of the Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group, BOC-NAIA District Collector Maria Yasmin O. Mapa, and Port of Cebu District Collector Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera.

The delegation engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions with Emirates Cargo representatives, led by Abdulla Alkhallafi, Vice President for Cargo Commercial – Far East & Australasia, Ravishankar Mirle, Vice President for Global Sales, and Jassem AlMulla, Emirates Cargo Manager for the Philippines. Discussions focused on strategies to streamline cargo movement, improve risk management, and adopt global standards in customs processes.

The collaboration underscores the BOC’s commitment to enhancing trade facilitation and ensuring seamless and secure cargo operations across the Philippines.
