The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu welcomed the Honorable Song Sewon, Consul General of the Republic of Korea to Cebu, during his courtesy visit on February 19, 2025. The visit underscored the continued collaboration between the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Korean diplomatic mission in facilitating trade, travel, and investment between the Philippines and South Korea.

District Collector Atty. Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera warmly received Consul General Song Sewon. A key topic of discussion was the notable increase in the number and frequency of flights from Korea to Bohol, signaling a surge in tourism and trade opportunities in the region. With Korea being a major source of international tourists and a significant trading partner, the Port of Cebu stands ready to support this growth through efficient and secure customs processes.

“We highly value our partnership with South Korea, which continues to be a vital contributor to our economic landscape. As the number of flights between Korea and Bohol increases, the Port of Cebu is committed to ensuring smooth customs processing to facilitate the seamless movement of travelers and goods. We appreciate the visit of Consul General Song Sewon and look forward to enhancing collaboration to further strengthen trade and tourism ties,” said District Collector De Vera.

Consul General Song Sewon expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and commended the Port of Cebu’s efforts in ensuring smooth customs operations.
