At the country’s busiest airport gateway, leadership is not just seen — it’s felt. The Bureau of Customs–Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA), under the dynamic watch of District Collector Atty. Maria Yasmin Obillos-Mapa capped off another high-impact week of on-ground operations, inspections, and stakeholder engagement — a strong testament to the port’s unwavering commitment to efficiency, transparency, and public service.

Collector Yas Mapa, known for her hands-on management style, led a series of site inspections at DHL Express Philippines, Cargohaus, Philippine Airlines, and People’s Air Cargo and Warehousing, accompanied by Special Deputy Collector Dr. Siegfred L. Manaois, whose expertise continues to fortify operational discipline and enforcement accuracy across units.
Dr. Manaois also took an active role at the Office of the Special Deputy Collector, ensuring alignment between field operations and policy direction — an effort that has significantly boosted inter-office coordination and quick response protocols.

Adding to the week’s milestones were courtesy visits from Central Airlines, Flight Axis, and other logistics partners, signaling stronger collaboration between the BOC-NAIA and its private sector stakeholders.
In a clear demonstration of vigilance, the NAIA team also conducted parcel sampling operations at the Central Mail Exchange Center, targeting packages suspected of containing illicit drugs — a move that reinforces the port’s zero-tolerance policy on smuggling and drug trafficking.
Under the firm but fair leadership of Atty. Yas Mapa and Dr. Siegfred Manaois, BOC-NAIA, continue to raise the bar for responsive, accountable, and stakeholder-driven customs service — proving that good governance can, indeed, take flight.
