The Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) has once again delivered a decisive blow against international drug syndicates after intercepting approximately 6,000 grams of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or ‘Shabu’ valued at ₱40.8 million at the Customs Arrival Area of NAIA Terminal 3.

The operation stemmed from a routine non-intrusive X-ray scan of the luggage of a Swiss national who had arrived from Abu Dhabi. Suspicious images led to a 100% physical examination, uncovering four (4) plastic packs of white crystalline substances hidden in the sides of the passenger’s suitcase.
The PDEA K9 Unit confirmed the presence of narcotics with a positive indication, while spectrometer testing verified the substance as Methamphetamine. Authorities immediately arrested the passenger for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), properly apprising her of her constitutional rights.
A formal inventory pegged the haul at 6,000 grams with a street value of ₱40.8 million. Both the contraband and the suspect were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for disposition and deeper investigation.
