MANILA — With revenue performance tightening the government’s fiscal backbone and border security firmly in focus, the Bureau of Customs–Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) on January 26 formally recognized its top-performing trade stakeholders for 2025—underscoring the Marcos administration’s no-nonsense push for efficient, compliant, and secure trade.
The award ceremony at the MICP Multipurpose Hall highlighted the Bureau’s aggressive drive, under Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, to strengthen collections, accelerate cargo clearance, and clamp down on smuggling through disciplined public-private partnerships.

Leading the event, MICP District Collector Atty. Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera IV credited the Port’s major importers, brokers, exporters, and shipping lines for delivering tangible results—revenue that directly funds public services and sustains the country’s economic competitiveness.
“This recognition is proof that when government and the private sector move in step, the gains are real—higher revenues, faster processing, and stronger border protection,” De Vera said, stressing that MICP will continue to raise the bar on enforcement and facilitation.
Honored with a Plaque of Recognition were the Port’s Top 10 Importers, led by Emperador Distillers Inc., Mondelez Philippines Inc., Universal Robina Corp., Toyota Motor Philippines Corp., Terra Solar Philippines Corp., Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp., LG Electronics Philippines Inc., Bricolage Philippines Inc., and Procter & Gamble Philippines Inc.
Outstanding customs brokers from the Formal and Informal Entry Divisions, top deconsolidators, exporters, and shipping lines were also cited for their consistent compliance and operational performance, reinforcing MICP’s role as the country’s premier trade gateway.
A special commendation was awarded to International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) for its world-class terminal operations and sustained support to the Port.
In his closing message, De Vera made clear that recognition comes with higher expectations.
“We are not slowing down. We expect more volume, stronger trade flows, and tighter coordination. MICP is ready—processing faster, enforcing smarter, and protecting the border without compromise,” he said.
The ceremony capped another strong showing for MICP under the leadership of Commissioner Nepomuceno, whose directive is clear: deepen stakeholder engagement, boost revenues, and ensure that every shipment passing through the country’s busiest port meets the full force of the law.
