The milestone was highlighted during a joint flag-raising ceremony held at the Bureau of Customs grounds in Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro, where Zurbito awarded Certificates of Commendation to employees of Collection District X in recognition of their contributions to the port’s revenue achievement.

The port exceeded its assigned target by more than ₱550 million, underscoring the sustained revenue performance of the Cagayan de Oro port, one of the key collection districts of the Bureau of Customs.

In his message during the ceremony, Zurbito commended the dedication of port personnel and emphasized the importance of maintaining the strong performance throughout the year.

“We have started the year strong, and we hope to maintain this momentum through your diligence and commitment in ensuring that we continue to effectively collect lawful duties and taxes,” Zurbito said.

Since assuming his post as District Collector of the Port of Cagayan de Oro, Zurbito has overseen initiatives aimed at strengthening revenue monitoring, improving operational efficiency, and reinforcing compliance among importers and stakeholders operating within the port.

Customs officials noted that these efforts have contributed to the port’s consistent revenue performance and its ability to exceed assigned targets, supporting the Bureau’s overall mandate of strengthening government revenue collection.

The recognition ceremony formed part of the port’s continuing efforts to acknowledge employee contributions while sustaining momentum in revenue generation and customs enforcement.
