District Collector Noel C. Estanislao of the Bureau of Customs – Port of Subic, together with Chief Assessment, Juan Jose O. San Andres, and Chief, Bay Service, Dr. Leo A. Abella, personally inspected the Port’s patrol boats to ensure their operational readiness and proper utilization in maritime patrol operations.

The inspection, held on-site at the docking area, focused on verifying the functionality of the vessels and the readiness of the personnel manning them. This initiative underscores the Port of Subic’s commitment to upholding maritime border protection and preventing smuggling and other illicit activities within the Freeport Zone. District Collector Estanislao emphasized the importance of maintaining fully operational patrol boats as a key component of the Port’s security assets.

“These vessels are not only tools for patrol but are our frontline defense in securing our waters. Ensuring they are functional and actively deployed is part of our duty to safeguard our borders,” he said. The move is aligned with Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio’s 5-Point Priority Program, particularly in the areas of border protection and enhanced enforcement measures.

The Port of Subic remains steadfast in implementing proactive strategies to strengthen maritime security in partnership with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and other law enforcement agencies.
