Parañaque City roared into the New Year with discipline, unity, and ironclad readiness as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Parañaque City staged its Traditional Monday Flag Ceremony and Ranks Inspection—a powerful show of force that sent a clear message: the city’s fire service is locked, loaded, and ready to serve.
Under the strong and steady leadership of FSUPT LIHER L. BARRIOS, City Fire Marshal, the ceremony was held at the Parañaque Central Fire Station, hosted by the IIU/Commel/Operations Section. Barrios’ command presence set the tone—no complacency, no shortcuts, only service and preparedness as 2025 begins.
This show of discipline aligns squarely with the vision of Mayor Edwin Olivarez, whose administration continues to push for public safety, disaster preparedness, and responsive emergency services. With City Hall and BFP moving in step, Parañaque’s safety frontliners are clearly backed by leadership that demands results and delivers support.
The ceremony was supervised by FSINSP KARLENE P. CANTAVIEJA, Chief of the Administrative Section, and FINSP RONALD C. MAGTANGOB, Chief of the Fire Engine Company of Parañaque City Fire Station 3 (Don Bosco), ensuring that every detail—from formation to protocol—met the highest standards.

Adding substance to the pageantry, SFO4 Ma. Vanessa T. Marfa, Troop Information and Education Speaker, delivered a no-nonsense New Year message:
The New Year is not just a change of dates—it is a call to reflect, recommit, and serve better.
She closed with a stirring reminder of purpose, brotherhood, and duty under the banner of the BFP—words that hit home for every firefighter in attendance.
The program unfolded with solemn precision: Invocation and Fireman’s Prayer, the Philippine National Anthem, Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, Panunumpa ng Paglilingkod, and the rousing BFP Hymn, concluding under the guidance of SFO1 Ma. Christina L. Abana, Company Commander.
At the same time, incoming operations personnel, Fire Safety Inspectors, and OBO/BPLO BFP personnel attended parallel ceremonies at Parañaque City Hall, reinforcing the citywide unity of purpose and command.

No ceremony would be complete without accountability. Immediately after, Ranks Inspection was conducted, spearheaded by FINSP Ronald C. Magtangob, focusing on personnel strength, proper uniform, operational capability, and overall readiness. The message was blunt and unmistakable: standards will be met—every single time.
With Mayor Edwin Olivarez at the helm of the city and FSUPT Liher L. Barrios leading the fire service, Parañaque residents can rest easier knowing that their protectors are disciplined, prepared, and fully committed.
