QUEZON CITY — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has fired up its digital tax offensive, rolling out its Taxpayer Portal (TP Portal) to Large Taxpayers covered by the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) Act, in a major push to make tax transactions faster, more centralized and more transparent.

Effective October 6, 2026, the expanded rollout gives qualified Large Taxpayers a secure online gateway where they can monitor their tax affairs without having to navigate multiple channels.

The move was formally announced through Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 109-2026, covering taxpayers classified as Large under the EOPT Act as implemented by Revenue Regulations No. 8-2024.

ONE PORTAL. ONE VIEW. MORE CONTROL.

Under the new system, Large Taxpayers can access a centralized taxpayer profile and check critical tax information, including:

– Registration information
– Filed tax returns and their status
– Tax payments
– Account Ledger by tax or form type
– System-generated notifications
– Tax reminders

The message from the BIR is clear: less red tape, fewer fragmented transactions and greater digital access to tax information.

MENDOZA PUSHES DIGITAL TAX REVOLUTION

BIR Commissioner Atty. Charlito Martin R. Mendoza is putting digital transformation at the center of the Bureau’s modernization drive, emphasizing that the TP Portal is part of the agency’s continuing effort to make government transactions easier and bring services closer to taxpayers.

Mendoza said the regional expansion delivers on the Bureau’s commitment to move beyond the portal’s pilot implementation and make the digital service accessible to Large Taxpayers nationwide.

The Commissioner also thanked taxpayers for their patience and support as the system underwent development, testing and fine-tuning before its wider deployment.

The expansion also supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to make government transactions easier and government services more accessible.

BAQUIRAN’S OPERATIONS PUSH

The digital offensive also puts the spotlight on Deputy Commissioner for Operations Atty. Vener Baquiran, whose Operations Group forms part of the BIR’s continuing drive to strengthen taxpayer services and modernize frontline tax administration.

With digital tools increasingly becoming part of everyday tax compliance, the rollout places greater emphasis on operational efficiency, accessible taxpayer services and streamlined transactions.

FROM PILOT TO NATIONAL PUSH

The TP Portal first went live in a pilot implementation for taxpayers registered under the Large Taxpayers Service (LTS) on May 26, 2026, at the BIR National Office in Quezon City.

Now, the Bureau is taking the system beyond the pilot stage.

The October 6 rollout brought together representatives of Large Taxpayers covered by the EOPT Act for a demonstration of the platform’s capabilities.

The launch featured a project overview, presentations and a live system walkthrough, showing taxpayers how to navigate and use the portal.

BIR’S BIG DIGITAL PACKAGE

Mendoza emphasized that the TP Portal is not a stand-alone project.

It forms part of the Bureau’s broader BIR DARES reform initiatives, alongside the Registration Seal Badge for online businesses, Electronic Invoicing System, eNotary and eDST, as well as audit and regulatory reforms.

The thrust is unmistakable: modernize the tax system, simplify compliance and push more transactions into secure digital channels.

As the BIR expands its digital infrastructure, the challenge now is execution — ensuring that the technology works, taxpayer records are accurate and assistance remains readily available when problems arise.

HELP DESK: RDOs ON THE FRONT LINE

Taxpayers needing enrollment assistance, technical support or corrections to taxpayer information appearing in their accounts may coordinate with their concerned Revenue District Office (RDO).

That support mechanism becomes crucial as more taxpayers transition into the digital system.

MENDOZA: BIR MUST ALSO DO ITS PART

Mendoza underscored that tax administration is a two-way responsibility.

While taxpayers are expected to comply with their obligations, the BIR must also deliver services that make compliance more efficient.

The TP Portal, he said, is one part of that commitment.

And with the digital transformation gathering speed, the BIR is signaling that the days of cumbersome, fragmented tax transactions are increasingly being pushed aside.

For Large Taxpayers, the message is loud and clear: the digital tax era is here — and the BIR is turning the portal into a major weapon in its modernization arsenal.
