MANILA, Philippines — Revenue target smashed! Hard work rewarded! The Bureau of Customs–Port of Manila (BOC-POM) has delivered another powerful performance, collecting a whopping ₱8.39 BILLION in September 2026 and surpassing its monthly revenue target in a major boost to the government’s revenue-generating drive.
Leading the charge was District Collector Rizalino Jose “RJ” C. Torralba, whose leadership took center stage during the October 7, 2026 awarding of Certificates of Commendation to the offices that helped power the Port’s impressive collection performance.
But this was no one-man show. Behind the multibillion-peso achievement stood a team of customs officials and personnel whose coordinated efforts helped keep the Port of Manila’s revenue machinery running at full throttle.
TORRALBA: LEADERSHIP THAT DELIVERS!
Under Collector Torralba’s leadership, the Port of Manila recognized the men and women whose daily work contributed to the successful attainment of its September collection target.
Torralba expressed his appreciation for their dedication, discipline, and teamwork, emphasizing that the latest accomplishment must serve as a springboard for even stronger performance in the months ahead.
The message was unmistakable: hitting the target is a victory—but sustaining performance, protecting government revenue, and delivering accountable public service must remain the bigger mission.
RICARTE AND TURIANO: FRONTLINE PLAYERS IN THE REVENUE DRIVE!
Sharing the spotlight were Deputy Collector for Assessment Mr. Florante Ricarte and Deputy Collector for Operations Atty. Gerard Turiano, whose respective offices form part of the Port’s operational and assessment framework.
Their roles underscore the importance of coordinated assessment and operational work in supporting efficient customs processing, proper revenue collection, and the implementation of the Bureau’s mandate.
In an institution where every transaction matters and every peso counts, teamwork across offices is crucial to maintaining the momentum of revenue generation.
BALUYOT AND THE FORMAL ENTRY TEAM: RECOGNITION WELL EARNED!
Also deserving the spotlight was Formal Entry Division Chief Mr. Herbie Baluyot, together with the Formal Entry Division team, whose work forms part of the customs processing system supporting the Port’s revenue mission.
The recognition of the offices and personnel sends a strong message: the Port’s performance is built not only on leadership at the top but also on the dedication of the people working behind the scenes to keep transactions moving and responsibilities fulfilled.
The certificates of commendation were more than pieces of paper. They represented acknowledgment of the collective effort behind the Port’s reported ₱8.39-billion September collection.
NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY!
While the September figures provide reason to celebrate, the real challenge is sustaining the momentum. Revenue targets must continue to be met, procedures must remain accountable, and public service must never lose sight of its responsibility to the Filipino people.
For Torralba, Ricarte, Turiano, Baluyot, and the entire Port of Manila workforce, the mission now is to turn one month’s success into a continuing record of performance.
The awarding ceremony also reaffirmed the Port’s commitment to the Bureau of Customs’ Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM) initiatives under Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno.
THE BOTTOM LINE: ₱8.39 billion collected. September target surpassed. Personnel recognized. And the Port of Manila’s challenge is clear—keep the revenue flowing, keep accountability strong, and keep public service delivering results.
In the high-stakes world of customs collection, the numbers speak loudly. At the Port of Manila, the September message was unmistakable: TEAMWORK COUNTS, PERFORMANCE MATTERS, AND EVERY PESO FOR THE GOVERNMENT COUNTS!
